4/29 Review + 5/6 Preview

Hi everyone!

First thing first, next week will not be the final exam! Because we missed one class for a snow day, we will make up for that class on this Saturday. This final exam will be on 5/13.

So for last Saturday, we have learned Chapter 13, p88 Extra Words from 1 三明治 to 6 冰淇淋。

This Saturday, 5/9, we will mainly do some reviewing for the final exam. First, we will cover the dialogue on p84. Then we will do some activities in Chapter 13, and then go back and review words we learned from Chapter 11, all the way to Chapter 13.

So for the final exam, I will post more detailed about it on Sunday, since our final exam paper needs to be censored by the principle before the questions get finalized.

Another announcement is that this Saturday will be my lass class with my students. I will be out of town after graduation (on the 12th), so I would not be here for the final exam, or the semester performance. There will be a sub teacher coming in for those two weeks, and possibly teach the kids for next semester too. I have met her personally and she is very nice and skilled.

4/22 Review and 4/29 Preview

Hope you are doing OK for this week!

Sorry about this late post, hope you can understand that it is the final period for school...

So for last week, we learned Chapter 13, p85 "New Words", from 8 可 to 13 糖果. We have also done activity on the textbook, including P87, 6, and p91, 13.

For the class on 4/29, we are learning to textbook P88 "Extra Words" from 1 三明治 to 6 冰激凌。And then we will review all the characters in Chapter 13.

The final exam for this semester is on May 6th. It will cover from Chapter 11 to 13, and the detailed form will be out later.

Since I thought the children have the workbook (that is a set with the textbook we are using), I did not print out the homework I planned to hand out because it was on the textbook. So if it is convenient for you to print, please print out the homework sheet attached and have your child complete that before next class.

4/22 Preview

Hi everyone! Hope your week is going smoothly so far!

For this Saturday's class, we are learning new words from Chapter 12, p85 "New Words", from 8 to 13.
After teaching new words and reviewing other characters from Chapter 12, we will be doing activities from the workbook. Please bring workbook to class.

Also, please check again if you child has finished the homework I mentioned in my last email. I am copying the homework content down in the post again.

So last week we had a vocabulary contest, and everyone did a great job!
We started learning new words from Chapter 13: 喜欢喝什么.

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week.

So for last week, we reviewed all new words from Chapter 12 on page 77 and 79.

For next class, we will have a vocabulary contest first.

Since we are having the contest, we would not have the scheduled quiz on 8th. For the rest of the class, we will be covering new words from Chapter 13, including textbook p85:

7. 喝
We will learn how to write the characters, as well as some daily expressions connected to food.

3/25 Review and 4/1 Preview

Hi parents and students,

Hope you are doing great for this week so far!

So for last Saturday, we reviewed  Chapter 12 new words on page 77, from 1 每天, to 12 黄瓜. We also reviewed words on page 79, from 1 葡萄, to 4 西红柿. We had activities such as matching pictures to Chinese characters in order to reinforce memory of the words.
The new words we learned last week are on page 79 too, including 5 土豆，6 白菜，and 7 青菜.
Then we learned to write 4 words, including: p 77, 5 苹果， p79 3, 西瓜, 5 土豆, 6 白菜.

For next class, we will start with review Pinyin and these words again.
Since there are a lot of new words in Chapter 12, and I want the students to really be able to remember them, we will not be starting Chapter 13. Instead, we will finish Chapter 12 and then do activities from textbook and workbook.

Another announcement is that we are having a vocab contest on April 8th. Review 2/25 + Preview 3/2

Hi everyone!


So last week we have finished TB P77 New words 1 to 11.
For practicing the words, here is a Quizlet link: https://quizlet.com/191428565/cme-1-12-flash-cards/.
Quizlet is a great website where students can practice recognizing words when playing different games. Here in this link, all new words in Chapter 12 are included. For now, students can practice for the first 12 (till 胡萝卜）on the Quizlet list, and after next class, they should be able to practice with all of them.
This Saturday I would be out of town, therefore there will be a sub teacher. But here are the things we are generally going to cover for next class:
1. Review P 77New words 1 每天 to 11 胡萝卜
2. Teach P77 New Words 12 黄瓜
3. Teach p79 Extra Words from 1 葡萄 to 7 青菜
4. Teach Song "Two Tigers" 两只老虎
